Young Humber Ambassadors Event: Inspiring the Region’s Future Leaders
The inaugural Young Humber Ambassadors Event brought together more than 120 pupils from across the Humber for a day dedicated to creativity, confidence and connection, and what a day it was.
Hosted at the University of Hull, the event united 30 primary schools, one secondary school and 25 regional organisations to celebrate the next generation of Humber’s leaders and changemakers.

From interactive workshops to thought-provoking discussions, the day was filled with energy and inspiration as young people explored career pathways, discovered their strengths and shared their ideas for shaping the future of Humber.
This first-of-its-kind event placed young voices at the heart of the region’s story, guided by Humber’s Place Brand values - Revolutionary, Resourceful, Real and Remarkable. Together, pupils and professionals explored how these values come to life every day across our industries, communities and opportunities.
One student summed it up perfectly:
“Today showed me that there are so many exciting opportunities right here in Humber - and that people really believe in our future.”
A united effort to inspire and empower
The conference was delivered in collaboration with Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, led by Rose James, whose passion and leadership brought the vision to life.
Guest speakers Owen Clater, Marguerite Aduh, Caine Wild, and pupils Isabelle and Noah from Healing Academy added powerful perspectives, while organisations from across the region hosted hands-on sessions designed to ignite curiosity and confidence.
