The Value We Create

3rd November 2026
5:26pm - 5:26pm
Sewell Group, HU7 0DG

Across Humber, businesses are facing real challenges around recruitment, retaining talent and developing the next generation of employees. At the same time, too many people in our communities are struggling to access the opportunities being created around them.

Social value isn't tomorrow's problem. It's about the difference we can make today.

On Thursday 10 December, Future Humber will bring a small group of Bondholders together for The Value We Create, a practical morning exploring how addressing some of our region's biggest social challenges can also help businesses tackle their own.

Led by Lewis English, founder of Underpin Consultants, the session will explore how businesses can create meaningful social value while strengthening their own organisations.

Together, we'll look at how businesses can:

  • Attract, develop and retain local talent, helping to address immediate workforce challenges.
  • Create opportunities for young people, particularly those facing barriers to education, employment or training.
  • Understand and demonstrate their impact, recognising the difference they're already making to people and communities.
  • Work together to achieve more, identifying opportunities to collaborate and create lasting benefits across Humber.

From Conversation to Action

This isn't just another morning of presentations.

Through an interactive workshop, businesses will explore the challenges they're facing, understand the impact they're already creating and identify practical opportunities to make a greater difference.

Every participating business will leave with its own Business Impact Snapshot, a simple, one-page action plan identifying existing activity, opportunities for improvement and practical next steps.

The event builds on conversations across Future Humber's Bondholder network and recent regional leadership and place discussions, where the need for greater collaboration, stronger connections and tangible action has been clear.

Because creating a stronger Humber isn't just about the investment and opportunities we attract tomorrow. It's about ensuring our businesses, people and communities can thrive today.
