Virtual Industry Insight - Bilfinger UK

Bondholders enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to meet the team behind the scenes at Bilfinger UK and take a virtual tour of the leading engineering and industrial service provider’s 33,000 square foot panel design & manufacturing facility in Haydock.

Attendees joining remotely via Zoom heard from in-house experts about their comprehensive range of technologies and services, using the latest lean manufacturing processes to enhance process capability and achieve customer requirements.

Engineering Firm of the Year 2021 and one of the largest independent control systems integrator and solutions provider in the UK, Bilfinger deliver intelligent solutions and asset support to the process industry. Supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy and water markets enhancing the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.

Carl Holmes, Business Development Manager at Bilfinger UK kicked off the hour-long session by introducing the business and giving an overview of its product offering and extensive operations.

Carl said: "In the Humber we're putting the finishing touches to our new fabrication site in Hull. This should be completed in August, and will support our existing contracts at Hinkley Point C.

"There is a change in vision for the Humber region to regrow our business here.

"When I speak to my colleagues in the Netherlands and Germany they see the activity and the drive to net zero in the UK, it is 100% a key focus for us to be heavily involved in this in the Humber."

Danny Cragg, Production Business Development Manager at Bilfinger UK gave an insight into the company's manufacturing facility in St Helen's with a complete virtual tour, as well as explaining its innovative processes and cultural changes to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Those in attendance were able to ask questions about Bilfinger's processes and gain a valuable look into how the company operates, while 'meeting the team' at the panel design and manufacturing facility remotely.

Closing the event, Bill Walker, Marketing Humber Chair, said: "We're keen that the Humber is seen as a test-bed for net-zero. This morning's session has highlighted how many players and the role major organisations such as Bilfinger UK can play in helping the region to achieve that."
