Future Humber shortlisted for top award after raising Humber’s profile at national investment and net zero events
3 July 2025
Future Humber has been shortlisted for the Team Impact award at the 2025 Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards (HEYPBA), following an ambitious programme of national activity that has positioned the Humber at the forefront of investment, sustainability, and clean growth – all within a 12-week period.

As the Place Partners for Humber, Future Humber brings together voices from business, government, and education to deliver a united and confident message about the region’s strengths. Acting as Place Leaders, Place Ambassadors, and Place Influencers, the team works to shape the region’s renewed identity, drive investment, and unlock opportunity through a shared and compelling narrative.
Between April and June 2025, Future Humber delivered and supported high-impact regional activity at Innovation Zero, UKREiiF, and Reset Connect, reaching a combined audience of over 30,000 professionals across these national platforms.
At Innovation Zero in April, held at Olympia London, Future Humber coordinated a striking Humber Pavilion at the event entrance, showcasing major projects in hydrogen, carbon capture, port infrastructure, and inward investment.
In May, the team supported a Humber Freeport-led breakout session at UKREiiF, the UK’s largest investment and regeneration event. With over 16,000 delegates in attendance, the session featured Luke Campbell MBE, Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, and Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, alongside national industry leaders. The discussion focused on devolved powers and regional collaboration to accelerate sustainable growth.
Most recently, Future Humber led the Humber Pavilion at Reset Connect, part of London Climate Action Week, on 24–25 June at ExCeL London. Over two days of insight, influence and collaboration, the Pavilion welcomed senior leaders, investors and policymakers to learn more about the region’s clean energy credentials and future opportunities. Among the visitors were Kerry McCarthy MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Climate, and Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, who visited the stand to hear directly about Humber’s progress, partnerships, and ambition to lead the UK’s energy transition.
Diana Taylor, Managing Director at Future Humber, said:
“This recognition reflects what a small, focused team can achieve when aligned behind a shared purpose. It’s been a high-intensity delivery period, but we’re proud of the visibility we’ve helped secure for the region. Our role as Place Partners is about enabling others – and it’s the belief and energy of our Bondholders that makes this possible.”
Paige McGowan, Marketing Manager at Future Humber, who has led the branding and delivery across these events, is also shortlisted at this year’s awards in the Manager of the Year category.
She said:
“Our goal was to deliver a confident and consistent identity that reflects the ambition of the Humber. The feedback from partners and organisers has been overwhelmingly positive – it’s great to see the region getting this level of recognition.”
The Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards take place on Friday 4 July at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull.
