Get ready to join an adventure of a lifetime at Hull Truck Theatre in the festive adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel: Oliver Twist. The production is proudly supported by Hull Trains and on stage from (Friday 28 November 2025 – Sunday 4 January 2026) presenting audiences with a perfect alternative to pantomime over the holidays, magically captivating audiences of all ages. Adapted by Deborah McAndrew, Directed by Hull Truck Theatre’s Artistic Director Mark Babych, and with traditional much-loved carols, folk tunes and original music by Composer and Musical Director John Biddle, Hull Truck Theatre once again promises to bring audiences joy and all the wonder this Winter of an enchanting and mesmerizing festive production.

I'm so excited to be back at Hull Truck this Christmas. I love how a theatre trip is a part of so many families' traditions at this time of year, and it's a real privilege to get to help tell timeless stories like Oliver Twist for Hull's brilliant audiences. The music is going to be a really big part of this production, not just in the songs but also driving the story forwards, and we've got such incredible singers in our cast, I can't wait to hear it all come together.

Pie Wars comes to Hull Truck Theatre as part of Hull Comedy Festival and this November Hull is showcasing multi-award-winning comedians, top liners and Hullarious showcases. Best of ‘Ull (Sat 1 Nov) will kick off the festival with comedians: Jack McLean, Lucy Buckley, Louise Atkinson, Hollie Noble, Pat Draper, Back and to the Left, International Idiots, Ed Jefferson and Jed Salisbury. Hull Comedy Festival will include: Herlarious Comedy (Tuesday 4 November) that will celebrate and showcase being funny and female. Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner, Phil Nichol will perform his new show Trying My Best (Wednesday 5 November) in the Godber Studio, as will Joe Kent Walters (now with low availability) who is Frankie Monroe: Dead!!!
Taking to the main stage, Su Pollard: Still Fully Charged (Saturday 8 November) and Suzi Ruffell: The Juggle (Thursday 13 November) (now with low availability) are both smashing life to the full and are ready to bring hilarious and entertaining comedy to Hull this November.
This year Hull Comedy Festival are also partnering with local theatre group, One Off Productions who are performing another TV favourite, Allo Allo, (Tuesday 4 – Thursday 6 November).
If you thought that was all the comedy you were going to get, you would be mistaken. Hull Truck Theatre’s visiting Company Programme will also include over November, physical comedy from actor Joanna Holden in Countess Dracula (Tuesday 11 November), presented by OftheJackel. 90 minutes of high-energy silliness and filth with stand-up comedian, John Robertson Plays With His Audience (Wednesday 12 November), a first-class murder mystery with hilarious performances from Locomotive for Murder: The Improvised Whodunnit (Friday 14 November) and Chuckl. Hull (Wednesday 12 November) who will once again present the chance for audiences to see some of the biggest and funniest acts right on their doorstep!
If Oliver Twist is not enough Dickens for one month, Ginger Green Productions will present The Old Curiosity Shop (Tuesday 13 – Saturday 15 November). Drama fans can expect a powerful story, a vibrant musical score, new musical numbers and a revised telling of one of Dickens’ most enduring works.
Hull Jazz Festival (Friday 7 – Saturday 8 November) returns to Hull Truck Theatre with four music events featuring a variety of talented musicians and performers. Joseph Cox and Gary Hammond: Convergence and Meridian: Claire Holdich and Stephanie Halsey Awakening (Friday 7 November) present a highly atmospheric double-bill of flute, harp, and world instruments, inspired by passion, yoga, meditation and jazz. Deirdre Cartwright Organik Trio (Friday 7 November) will celebrate the classic jazz organ-guitar trios of the 1960s, Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra with Humber Music Hub Ensembles (Saturday 8 November) will showcase how healthy the modern jazz scene is, and Mambo Jambo and Joe Martin (Saturday 8 November) will be Eclectic genre-defying their mash up of swing, Latin American, Cajun, eastern European and some funky Bluegrass.

Get ready for musical experiences like no other, including classic and modern Argentine Tango music from Vincent Simone: Tango Passions (Friday 7 November). And bringing audiences a night of Rock and Roll, Rave On (Saturday 15 November) are back with an exhilarating step back in time to the fabulous 50s and swinging 60s.
Finally, explore methods of collaborative theatre-making with First Thursday Theatre Club – Theatre Making: Approaches to Co-Creation (Thursday 6 November) Led by Tom Saunders, Associate Director at Hull Truck Theatre. The session will include a blend of practical exercises and discussion, examining both the benefits and challenges of co-creation and a great way to meet new people while being creative.
