East Yorkshire brewery brings Shakespeare to the Wolds

An East Yorkshire brewery is bringing live theatre to the Yorkshire Wolds with an alternative take on Shakespeare.

Touring company Four Forty Theatre will revisit Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery on 7th August to deliver a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with a difference.

“We're looking forward to welcoming the fab Four Forty theatre team back to the Brew Shed for an irreverent and inventive take on the Shakespeare classic,” said Wold Top director, Kate Balchin.

“Expect comedy, wit, lightning-fast character changes and a whole lot of theatrical mischief as lovers get tangled, fairies clash, and a troupe of hopeless actors rehearse their way into chaos - all in one moonlit night!”

The performance will take place in the Brew Shed at the award-winning brewery that is based at Hunmanby Grange Farm.

Tickets cost £20 for adults and £17.50 for concessions, including a pint or soft drink on arrival. Camping is also available. Doors open at 5.30 pm and the performance starts at 7 pm. Visit https://bit.ly/440Theatre26 for more information and to book.

The live theatre night is one of a series of events throughout the year, including live music nights, two beer festivals, and a five and 10k all-terrain race in partnership with Bridlington Road Runners.
