Reset Connect London 2025

The Humber region demonstrated its leadership in clean energy and future infrastructure at Reset Connect, held at ExCeL London. Over two days, regional representatives delivered a strong message that the Humber is not waiting for the future and is already building it.
Across keynote panels and discussions, Humber leaders showcased the projects, partnerships and investments driving industrial decarbonisation, renewable generation and sustainable transport.
Andy Sykes, Plant Director at Siemens Gamesa, spoke about how wind, solar and heat networks are reshaping the UK’s energy landscape. He highlighted the importance of investing in people and skills to unlock regional potential.

“We see opportunities all around us, and we’re proof of what happens when vision meets investment,” he said. He also called for honest conversations about the challenges in meeting 2030 targets.
Richard Beason, Head of Investment at Humber Freeport, joined a panel focused on sustainable transport and regeneration. Referencing Goole’s Siemens Mobility site, he underlined the need for urgency.

“These projects are ready. We just need someone to press the button,” he said.
A panel chaired by Jonathan Oxley, Chair of the Humber Energy Board, explored the region’s growing international profile. He was joined by Simon Holt of Phillips 66 UK, Hector Wilson of Air Products and Richard Beason.

“We’ve got countries all around the world looking at the Humber. The eyes are very much on the Humber,” Jonathan Oxley said.
The discussion covered the Humber’s role in industrial decarbonisation, the rising importance of hydrogen and the transformative impact of major investment.
The Humber Pavilion welcomed senior leaders and political figures from across the UK. Kerry McCarthy, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Climate, and Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, visited the stand to hear about Humber’s progress, partnerships and future potential.

Designed for reuse and adapted from the region’s Innovation Zero presence, the Humber Pavilion represented a commitment to sustainable design and bold thinking.
The message from Reset Connect was clear. The Humber is leading the transition to a cleaner, more resilient future, creating opportunities for investment and innovation.
The Pavilion was supported by Air Products, Equinor, Humber Freeport, Phillips 66 UK, SSE Thermal and Uniper.
