Future Humber and partners ABP and Meehan Media welcomed political leaders, investors, business leaders, dignitaries and media stakeholders to officially launch Humber Freeport.
Held on Friday 14th July at ABP’s Grade II listed Pump House on Alexandra Dock, the highly anticipated VIP event launched with a mission to drive hundreds of millions of pounds of investment and deliver 7,000 new jobs.
Discussions led by Simon Bird, Chair of Humber Freeport, highlighted the huge opportunities to build on the region’s fast-growing renewable energy industries and the decarbonisation agenda, as well as the potential for investment in the chemicals, logistics, advanced manufacturing and technology sectors.
Michael Green, Head of Freeports at the Department for Business and Trade, Jo Barnes, Managing Director at Sewell Estates, key partner in the Yorkshire Energy Park and Simon Green, Interim CEO of Humber Freeport also took to the stage to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead for the Humber Freeport and the wider UK.
