Sowden & Sowden and CHCP renew longstanding marketing partnership for a further three years

Hull – Award-winning marketing, creative and digital agency Sowden & Sowden has renewed its contract with City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP), marking the continuation of a trusted and collaborative relationship that has already spanned six impactful years.

Following a competitive pitch process, the three-year extension will see East Yorkshire based marketing specialist Sowdens continue to provide creative strategy, brand development, campaign delivery and content creation to support CHCP’s diverse range of services across Hull, the East Riding and beyond.
CHCP is an organisation constantly adapting, evolving and innovating. Its services range from palliative care to school nursing, and from stroke rehabilitation to dentistry.
As a co-owned, “for better profit” Community Interest Company, City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) remains part of the NHS ecosystem as a provider of health services, similar to GPs, dentists, and pharmacies. While CHCP is an independent provider, it works in conjunction with NHS commissioning organisations and is a key part of the NHS’s network of healthcare delivery. Its purpose-driven model is reflected in every aspect of its operations – and its communications are no exception.
“CHCP makes an incredible impact on our region, and the pride their people have in what they do is contagious,” said Polly Sowden, Managing Director and Co-owner of Sowden & Sowden. “It’s a privilege to work with a client that lives by its values – compassion, excellence, and expertise – and to bring those values to life creatively.”
Over the past six years, Sowdens has delivered more than 9,000 creative hours across a diverse range of CHCP marketing campaigns and projects – including the original rebrand strategy and positioning work, affiliate brand refreshes, support on bids and award entries, annual reports, social media management, film production, and internal communications, to name a few.
The recent standout Passionate About People campaign told real-life stories from CHCP colleagues and patients, helping to boost recruitment and brand perception in a competitive health and care market.
Campaigns have always been guided by CHCP’s core values and a shared ambition to put people at the heart of healthcare.
“We understand CHCP’s audience – and the high expectations that come with a publicly funded organisation,” said Polly Sowden, Managing Director and Co-owner at Sowden & Sowden.
“Our team delivers creativity with rigour, always looking for the most effective, engaging and accessible approach. We’re proud to continue supporting CHCP in delivering services that truly matter.”
Recognising the real impact of care
In addition to the contract renewal, Sowdens was proud to sponsor the Older Adult Carer Award at CHCP’s 2024 CHAMPS Awards, recognising the individuals delivering exceptional care in our communities. It’s one of many moments where creative communications and community impact go hand in hand.
“We have utter confidence that every penny of our budget is being spent wisely, for maximum campaign impact,” said Lucy Flower, Communications Manager at CHCP. “The team at Sowdens knows our audience inside out – and their creativity, service and understanding of our sector makes them a truly valuable partner.”
Looking ahead, the renewed contract will include further development of CHCP’s brand, support for key health campaigns, and continued delivery across film, digital and print assets – all designed to support the people and stories that make CHCP exceptional.
“Seeing the impact of our work on real people’s lives – and helping CHCP share those stories – is something very special,”
Polly added “It’s why we do what we do.”
