J. Marr Colleagues Take on London Landmarks Half Marathon to Support Sailors’ Children’s Society

J. Marr is proud to announce that two members of its team, Ryan and Emma, will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12th April 2026 in support of the Sailors’ Children’s Society. 

The challenge reflects J. Marr’s ongoing commitment to supporting a charity that is closely connected to both the company and the wider seafood industry. The Sailors’ Children’s Society provides vital practical, emotional and financial support to children and families who have been affected by the loss or serious illness of a parent working at sea. 

The charity’s work helps families navigate some of the most difficult periods of their lives, offering long-term stability, reassurance and care when it is needed most. 

J. Marr has worked closely with the Sailors’ Children’s Society for many years, raising funds and awareness to support its important mission. As a business rooted in the seafood industry, J. Marr recognises the importance of supporting those connected to life at sea and remains proud of its long-standing partnership with the charity. 

With around 9 weeks to go until race day, training is already well underway. Early morning runs, evening sessions and weekend miles have become part of Ryan and Emma’s routine as they balance their preparation alongside their roles at J. Marr. 

While the challenge is demanding, both participants say it is also highly motivating. 

Emma said: 

“Taking on the half marathon is a big challenge but knowing we’re doing it for such a meaningful cause gives us real motivation and focus.” 

Ryan added: 

“The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a great challenge, and I feel privileged to take part in this for such a worthwhile cause.” 

Together, Ryan and Emma are aiming to raise £1,000 to support the Sailors’ Children’s Society and help the charity continue its vital work. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference to the families they support.
