We’d rather go to Hull, too
A favourite news story of ours recently is this article from London based journalist Stephanie Hawthorn who found that she could get a full weekend in Hull, including travel, accommodation, theatre tickets for two, and a trip to The Deep for less than two tickets to the same show at the Royal Opera House in London.
Some great name checking for some of our favourite places! Read more at >> A London opera ticket for £235? I'd rather go to Hull and back
Puffins ready and waiting for their forever home
Have you seen the puffins of the Puffins Galore trail in the East Riding? The popular trail was 42 puffins, decorated by artists, scattered around the East Riding of Yorkshire in places such as Spurn Point, Beverley, Hornsea, and all the way up to Bempton. Well, you can now own your own by buying one at auction on Saturday 13th May. They will all be together one last time and available to view from the 5th May.

From Withernsea to NYC
Withernsea's second best poet has had his work read out on Broadway. Dean Wilson, famous for his poems and his Pebble of the Day series on Twitter has expressed his amazement that his poetry work has been set to music and has found its way to New York. We do wonder what Withernsea’s number one poet has to say about this development. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, people.
