Future Humber congratulates Luke Campbell, elected as the first Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, and Dame Andrea Jenkyns, elected as the first Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire. These appointments mark a significant step in Humber’s development, bringing new leadership at a pivotal time for the region.

Humber is a region of national importance, home to globally connected ports, world-leading clean energy infrastructure, and a proud industrial heritage. It is also a place of diverse communities and economies, each with its own challenges, opportunities and priorities.

From coastal and rural communities to industrial heartlands and urban centres, local leadership must respond to what matters most in each place. But while those needs may differ, our ambitions are shared. We all want to see a competing, thriving and sustainable Humber region.

This is why collaboration between the two mayoral authorities and other established regional business and community partners is so important. Humber’s future success depends on joined-up leadership that bridges local authority boundaries, supports shared priorities, and strengthens our collective voice.

We look forward to working with both mayors, our local authorities and other partners to champion the region’s strengths, respond to its specific needs, and help deliver a united vision for the future.

The Humber has the ambition, the assets and the talent to lead the way to a just transition. With clear, collaborative leadership, the region can realise its full potential and shape a remarkable future for all.
