Funded Level 3 Award in Violence Prevention and Reduction

16 July 2026

We Do Wellbeing Session

Teachers, youth workers, cadet leaders and professionals working with young people are invited to join the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership’s (VPP) Level 3 Award in Violence Prevention and Reduction. Delivered by We Do Wellbeing, this fully-funded and accredited qualification provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand violence through a public health approach and support young people to make a positive difference in their communities.

Training dates: 22 and 29 September 2026 (full days)

Venue: TBC (in the Humber region)

Cost: Free

Places are limited – click here to register your interest by the 14 August to be considered for the qualification. You can read an overview of the course here. Although the course summary mentions the NHS, this particular programme is open to anyone in the Humber area working with young people at risk of serious violence.

Unfortunately, the Humber VPP is unable to fund the qualification outside of the Humber region. If you’re interested in running the qualification in another region, please contact We Do Wellbeing, who operate nationally.

Why Join?

By completing the Level 3 qualification you will: · Gain a nationally-recognised Royal Society for Public Health qualification.

· Develop a deeper understanding of the causes of violence and evidence-based prevention approaches.

· Learn how to support and empower young people to improve health and wellbeing within their communities.

· Be eligible to progress onto an exclusive 'Train the Trainer' programme, where you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to deliver the RSPH Level 2 Violence Prevention Youth Health Champions Programme, with ongoing support from We Do Wellbeing.

Inspiring the Future Generation

Those who successfully complete both the Level 3 qualification and the Train the Trainer programme will have the opportunity to deliver the Level 2 Violence Prevention Youth Health Champions qualification to a cohort of up to 20 young people, in partnership with We Do Wellbeing.

Funding is already secured for three Level 2 cohorts to be delivered before March 2027, creating an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people and communities.

Proven Impact

Our pilot Violence Prevention Youth Health Champions programme demonstrated outstanding results:

· 92% of learners said they would recommend the programme.

· Significant improvements in knowledge, confidence and communication skills.

· Learners reported increased confidence discussing sensitive topics and delivering health improvement messages to their peers.

· The programme successfully supported young people to become advocates for violence prevention within their communities.

About the Humber VPP

Launched in 2022, the Humber VPP is one of 20 Home Office funded Violence Reduction Units in England and Wales. The partnership includes the Police and Crime Commissioner, Humberside Police, local councils, the NHS and a range of other regional organisations.

The partnership seeks to identify the root causes of serious violence. By using a public health approach, they focus on earlier intervention – this includes funding activities that offer young people positive alternatives to serious violence, such as sports programmes and social skills training.

The Humber VPP also runs awareness campaigns that help professionals and caregivers to educate, encourage and inspire young people.
