RSPCA Hull & East Riding and Hull Minster are delighted to announce the return of the Animal Celebration and Blessing Service, taking place on Sunday, 31st August 2025 at Hull Minster. This heartfelt and inclusive event invites the public to celebrate the animals who have touched our lives—from family pets to service and rescue animals. All animals and people are welcome, with the service offering a unique opportunity for thanks, remembrance, and community support.

In addition to the blessing service between 2pm-2.45pm, there will be a number of stalls showcasing the vital work of local animal charities, rescue organisations, and service providers between 1pm – 5pm. Stalls will give visitors the chance to learn more about animal welfare efforts across Hull and East Yorkshire, and how to support them.

Matt Wright, RSPCA Hull & East Riding Head of Operations said: “This event is a chance to celebrate the animals who’ve touched our lives. It’s a heartfelt day of thanks, remembrance, and community support—open to everyone. With stalls from local rescue and service providers, and a special blessing and memorial, it’s a space to love, remember, and support together.”

The event is free to attend, and the public is encouraged to bring dogs on leads and other animals, where safe and appropriate. There will also be a special memorial moment, offering attendees the chance to reflect on and honour the memory of much-loved pets who’ve passed away.

RSPCA Hull & East Riding, a self-funded charity, continues to lead regional efforts in animal rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming through its £1-million Animal Care Centre. Events like this highlight the importance of community partnerships, education, and continued public support for local animal welfare.
