Phillips 66 has been operating in the UK for over 65 years and we are as excited about our future as we are proud of our past.

Providing Energy. Improving Lives.

We are excited about the future of energy. Our advantaged and nimble company is full of seasoned leadership and talented teams making responsible choices to adapt and explore the opportunities the changing market brings.

We do this while living out our values of safety, honour and commitment; improving lives by providing access to the energy which is essential to a high standard of living and health throughout the UK and the world. Our hard work, and team work, keeps energy flowing.

Phillips 66 Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Phillips 66, with a focus on refining, commercial and marketing operations.

In the UK, we own and operate the Humber Refinery in North Lincolnshire. As well as producing diesel, gasoline and jet fuel, the refinery also produces other products such as propylene and benzene which are the building blocks to manufacture products ranging from pharmaceuticals to household goods. We are proud of the role we play in the UK’s energy security, transport resilience and providing the products used every day by society.

The Humber Refinery is unique, being the only European facility producing specialty graphite coke traditionally used to make electrodes used in electric arc furnaces for steel production, but now used as a critical mineral in the production of lithium-ion batteries for consumer electronics and electric vehicles. Our current production is equivalent to placing 1.3 million electric vehicles on the road every year.

There is more to Phillips 66 Limited in the UK. Our UK Marketing business trades under the JET brand, with around 300 JET branded fuel courts. We supply around 15% of fuels to the UK market.

Phillips 66 Limited recognises the need to address climate change and in 2021, our Emerging Energy division was established to drive strategy and lower-carbon business development activities. Phillips 66 Limited embarked on the energy transition and set emission reduction targets for 2030 and 2050.

The transition to the Refinery of the Future has already started. The Humber Refinery was the first UK facility to process waste feedstocks allowing the first at-scale production of sustainable aviation fuel with a multi-year commercial agreement with British Airways. Other waste feedstocks are being processed, such as pyrolysis oil recovered from end-of-life tyres. The refinery is also exploring the adaptation of carbon capture and hydrogen refuelling to reduce operational emissions.
