Hull University Students' Union
Hull University Students’ Union (HUSU) is an independent Charity, for the Students of the University of Hull. HUSU’s primary role is the advancement of education, promoting the interests and welfare of students, through representing, supporting, and advising Students. HUSU is the recognised representative channel between students and the University of Hull. Students lead Union Council (a democratic council made up of student representatives and an independently elected Student Chair) policy and motions are brought for debate and consideration by students.
Each year HUSU holds elections for 3 Presidents who lead HUSU, these are full-time positions held for one year. HUSU also provides opportunities for students to create and run Societies and Sports Clubs of which there are over 110, students lead on volunteering and fundraising activities on campus and across the region.
HUSU delivers some commercial services on campus, employing over 250 students, to support the work of the charity, these include a franchised Spar retail outlet, The first Wetherspoon franchise to open in the UK “Wetherspoon at Sanctuary” and a Nightclub, home to the largest Student Club night in the Hull a music venue and the place to play Bongo Bingo!
