Quickline partners with Prince’s Trust to target employability and enterprise schemes for young people

The East-Yorkshire based business has committed £150,000 to The Trust’s work in South Yorkshire, supporting young entrepreneurs to start and grow new businesses, as well as improving essential employability skills.

Quickline’s investment over the next three years will support a range of programmes, equipping young people in South Yorkshire with skills to further their chances of employment or self-employment through Prince’s Trust’s proven models. Young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to explore the possibility of running their own business whilst others will be equipped with the skills needed to succeed in employment. Quickline’s investment will support approximately 25-30 young people per year to build a brighter future.

Quickline’s partnership with The Prince’s Trust and their work with young people in South Yorkshire comes after they were awarded the contract to deliver full fibre broadband to 32,100 rural homes across South Yorkshire under the government’s £5 billion UK-wide Project Gigabit programme.

Background:

The Prince’s Trust qualifications in Exploring Enterprise recognise knowledge and understanding in key areas of running a business. The qualifications have been developed with the aim of progressing learners into business ownership, self-employment or further study.

The qualifications give learners the opportunity to:

• Develop their own personal growth and engagement in, and through, learning.
• Engage in learning that is relevant to them and supports the development of enterprise skills, knowledge and understanding in key areas essential for developing a business idea.
• Recognise their personal enterprise skills and characteristics to make appropriate decisions about their own future progression.
