Nurturing the names behind the numbers, Yorkshire accountancy firm, Smailes Goldie Group, is returning to the apprenticeship stage with its annual Recruitment Open Evening.

The event, set to take place on 12 February 2024, comes at the end of National Apprenticeship Week and reaffirms an ongoing commitment to provide opportunities to passionate, talented individuals.

Held at the firm’s Princess Street offices in Hull, the Recruitment Evening will provide graduates and college leavers with an insight into the life of a trainee accountant, routes into the sector and relevant qualifications.

Attendees will also be encouraged to apply for the firm’s highly successful training programme, which last year saw the firm recruit 16 trainees due to the firm’s continued growth and success.

Smailes Goldie Group celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2024, with team members taking the opportunity to look back at the career progression afforded to them by the firm’s innovative approach to trainees.

With 91 per cent of Partners being promoted internally and many beginning as trainees with the firm, it comes as no surprise that Smailes Goldie Group is repeatedly popular among apprentices in the region.

It also currently ranks 18th out of the Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers in 2023 – an achievement which recognises the diversity, success and innovation of apprenticeship employers.
