Hull’s award-winning international logistics company, GTS UK, has launched a new Overseas division as part of its continued expansion.

The firm, based in Springfield Way, Anlaby, launched in 2015 and supports all of the UK’s major supermarkets, as well as international food brands such as Crosta & Mollica.

Its latest growth sees the company building on its strong relationships with major carriers and agents in the world’s biggest ports. The team will be lead by Matthew Cook, GTS UK’s new Overseas division manager.

The firm’s extensive network means its new team can unlock global access for international goods. The new team will operate in countries including the following:

  • European Union
  • Far East (China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia)
  • Sub-Indian countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh)
  • North America (USA and Canada)
  • Central and South America (Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil)
  • Intra-Med (Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Türkiye)
  • Middle East (UAE)

Matthew Cook said: “This expansion marks a significant moment for GTS UK. The company has become one of the UK’s most trusted importers and exporters of ambient temperature goods from Europe in a relatively short period of time – but now our supply chain specialists can cover the globe.

“Navigating international ports can be complex, but the expertise of our team means we provide the ability to clear customs quickly and without hassle for all types of freight, from ambient temperature goods to refrigerated.”

The expansion also means GTS UK specialises in both full and part loads, allowing smaller businesses to be more flexible with their freight quantities.

The move comes on the back of a hugely successful 2023 for the Hull business. Tony Prescott, managing director, was named Logistics Leader of the Year at the 2023 Logistics UK Awards.

The business also achieved consistent revenue growth in 2023 despite very difficult market conditions, as global and domestic clients continued to prioritise top-of-class service to fulfil their logistics needs. Further recruitment and investment was also carried out on GTS UK’s supply chain and customs teams on the strength of its track record of reliable service and trust built with clients.
