Earlier in the month, the Young Talent Network held its first in person social since early 2020! It was a great opportunity to catch up with longstanding network members and meet new faces. The social was held at Firepit, Beverley, and we celebrated the efforts made during the YTN Eco Summer Challenge with food, drink and prizes.

The challenge saw Eco Warriors from our Young Talent Network make simple, eco-conscious changes to their everyday lives for the benefit of our local and global environment. Each action was worth a designated number of points, which were accumulated to be exchanged for a drink, side or meal at the social.

There were over 30 actions to complete, from growing your own 🥕🥔 and donating clothing, to litter picking and listening to eco podcasts 🎙. 23 Young Talent Network members committed to the challenge and it was great to hear how over the month, the small changes became integrated into every day life. We are looking forward to seeing participants keep up some or all of their changes and committing to making a difference for the long term.

During the challenge we shared an interesting article - If you want to take on big problems, try thinking like a bee...taking on the mindset that it's not about changing the world single-handedly, but working together as a collective to move towards changing the world. Read more here. 🐝

Are you keen to make some eco changes but don't know where to start? Take a look on social to get some inspiration from the network members: @YTNHumber #YTNEcoSummer.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved - and to the wonderful Bio-D team who sponsored the prizes. See below for images of winners Emily and Cara & Phil who won hampers full of eco cleaning and washing products!

The most points were accumulated by Emily ⬆👏

Cara and Phil made the biggest splash on social ⬆👏
