This event takes place on May 22nd, 9:00 am - 10:30 am.
Effective governance is vital to promote public, funders’ and stakeholders’ trust and confidence in charities and should promote (and not hinder) effective operations.
Governing documents (also known as Articles of Association for charitable companies, or constitutions for CIOs and unincorporated charities) are living documents which set out the rules and procedures for the running of the organisation.
Charities must keep their governing documents under review to avoid mission draft and ensure that their procedures are in line with current legislation and continue to be workable.
They will discuss when governing documents should be reviewed, when amendments are needed and when Charity Commission consent is required.
