WISHH is the official charity of Hull Hospitals, making a difference to patients, visitors and staff by enhancing the facilities, equipment and services at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital, beyond what can be achieved by the NHS alone.

What we do…

WISHH organises a range of appeals, fundraising events and activities to enhance Hull Hospitals. Our recent appeals include:

The ‘By Your Side Appeal’. We raised funds to enhance the parental accommodation, play area and break out facilities on the Woodland Ward, enabling parents and carers of the area’s sickest children to stay by the side of their child whilst they receive care.

The ‘Space to Grow’ appeal to support Hull’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We’ve created a sensory room, sibling’s facility, parental room, and specialist staff training facility to make a difference to the families of 500 premature babies each year.

We manage over 200 charitable funds, from cancer care and paediatrics, to stroke medicine and cardiology, and work alongside local businesses, fundraisers and donors to support them and ensure their funds reach the specified area.

Why we do this…

Hull Hospitals cares for over 603,000 people in Hull and the East Riding and provides specialist care to a population of 1.25 million, from North Yorkshire to North Lincolnshire. WISHH’s ambition is to help patients receive the best experience and treatments possible, along with their visitors and all hospital staff.

Become involved…

There’s so much more we can achieve to enhance our hosptials, but we cannot do this alone and need your help and support. To become involved, please contact Lisa Whitton, WISHH Charity Manager Lisa.whitton3@nhs.net or call 01482 622299.

We are proud to become part of the Bondholder network, sharing our experience and being part of a group of likeminded people, who are passionate about driving forward our area to make a positive change.
