RWE is a leading global energy company and the UK’s largest power producer via our portfolio of onshore wind, offshore wind, hydro, biomass and gas, with hopes to invest £15 billion in UK clean energy projects by 2030.

RWE produces around 15% of the UK’s electricity – enough to power over 10 million homes.

We have a number of energy projects located in and around the Humber area, including our Humber Gateway and Triton Knoll offshore wind farms, Tween Bridge and Goole Fields onshore wind farms as well as Staythorpe gas power station in Lincolnshire.

Our Triton Knoll and Sofia offshore wind projects in the North Sea represent a collective investment of £5 billion in the UK’s green energy sector.

We are currently constructing our ‘Grimsby Hub’ - a new state-of-the-art operations and maintenance hub which will be home to RWE’s specialist team for major component exchanges and offshore repairs.

We are also progressing plans to develop new projects at our Tween Bridge site in South Yorkshire, which would include both solar power generation, battery storage, onshore wind and animal husbandry.

We are also seeking to decarbonise our gas power station fleet via new technologies like carbon capture and hydrogen. This includes Staythorpe Power Station and plans for a new carbon capture station at Stallingborough working through the proposed Viking CCS Cluster.

As a Bondholder, RWE hopes to play a full role driving the development of the Humber’s clean energy economy, creating connections and deepening our engagement and partnerships in the region.
