As one of the largest hospital Trusts in the UK, NHS acute hospitals provide a comprehensive range of treatments from its two major bases at Hull Royal and Castle Hill offering a major teaching, cancer and trauma centre which treats over a million people each year.
A capital investment programme of £250m has provided valuable contributions to the city-region with a new £70m cancer centre and a £50m cardiac and surgical centre which is also expected to see a further growth in staff numbers to at least 7,500 during 2008.
