This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and innovative Marketing and Events Assistant to join Wykeland Group as part of their wider Marketing and Events team. Reporting to their Marketing Executive, you’ll have a key role in supporting a range of marketing functions including managing their social media channels (Flemingate, Fruit Market and Whitefriargate); assisting in the planning and promotion of events and producing marketing material for their developments as required by the wider marketing team.

What they are looking for more than anything, is someone with a positive attitude with great initiative and proactive nature who is looking to start their career in marketing and enjoy working as part of a creative and collaborative team, offer strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to run multiple projects concurrently, have a keen eye for detail and feel confident working under pressure or tight deadlines when needed.

The Role

The Marketing and Events Assistant role will primarily manage their social media content and activity across a range of their sites, whilst providing day-to-day assistance to the rest of the Marketing and Events Team.

The role will include:

  • Contributing to creating marketing campaigns and strategies
  • Creating and managing the content plan across social media accounts that aligns with wider marketing and business efforts and in a timely manner to be approved by the Marketing team
  • Working closely with their tenants to promote any new products or promotions whilst creating exciting new content alongside them
  • Management of social media accounts which will involve scheduling posts and community engagement (responding to enquiries, interacting with relevant accounts and posts, finding and sharing UGC)
  • Reporting on performance with a review on future proposals/ improvements whilst assessing against competitor activity and industry trends
  • Taking the lead and a proactive role in content creation for all channels, creating visuals that are in in line with brand guidelines and tone of voice whilst staying up to date with the latest social media trends and techniques
  • Collaborating with local influencers and freelancers to produce engaging video content
  • Attending events at Flemingate and the Fruit Market to provide on-site event assistance and promotion on social media
  • Working closely with their Marketing Executive to assist in the production of marketing materials across the Wykeland developments and events
  • Working closely with their Fruit Market and Flemingate event managers to assist with the planning, promotion and delivery of events along with the coordination of the event calendar
  • Researching and suggesting new ideas to expand their existing events calendar
  • Liasing with local volunteers and community groups for events
  • Reputation management, ensuring that and issues which arise are flagged to the relevant party and dealt with appropriately
  • Attend relevant internal meetings and tenant meetings to stay up to date about developments, offerings and events
  • Flexibility in working hours including occasional evening and weekend work around events
