In what has been reported as the most challenging judging process to date, the HEYPIBA team has confirmed that the quality of talent in the region has never been higher.

The Hull & East Yorkshire People in Business Awards first took place in 2019 and returned in virtual format in 2021 following the COVID pandemic. The 2022 & 2023 awards and ceremony were warmly welcomed with nominations and businesses attending, and 2024 for it’s fifth anniversary has demonstrated the appetite for recognition and reward with the highest number of nominations received to date, along with a plethora of business sponsors and an impressive judging panel.

Lee Solway of Harrison Solway and head of the judging panel said “Having had the privilege of being part of the previous 2 years judging panels, the sheer number and calibre of nominations this year made the judging incredibly difficult to say the least.  it is very clear that we have some unbelievable individuals and businesses in the Hull and East Yorkshire area, from the ‘Rising Star’ category, all the way up to the Lifetime Achievement nominees.  It was a huge honour for me to be asked to lead this years judging panel.”

Fellow Judges, Pat Coyle of Rollits and Martyn Coupland, CTO of The Edge Hub added respectively “The calibre of entries this year has been exceptional. It's been a privilege to see the stories of dedication and grit which are a testament to the incredible talent we have locally. From rising stars to established entrepreneurs, these individuals are the driving force behind the success stories that make our region so unique.”

The People in Business Awards is supported by several local businesses including headline sponsor and category sponsors. Lee Solway of headline sponsor Harrison Solway who will present the Lifetime Achievement award added “The Lifetime Achievement award is a very prestigious accolade which is presented to an individual who has demonstrated longevity, commitment and dedication to their individual business or sector, someone who has achieved so much and has also had a positive influence on the people they work with.”

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 5th July, at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Hull and will see businesses recognised in thirteen categories along with an evening of food, drinks, and entertainment.  To book tables and tickets, please visit www.pibawards.com
