In total 19 volunteers from across the business contributed 127 hours, engaging in various activities aimed at environmental conservation and supporting young people with STEM learning.

Highlights from the week included two beach cleans which saw 12 people remove 33lbs of rubbish from the East Yorkshire coastline, a team of three colleagues planted 900 tree seeds to support reforestation efforts and more than 20 pupils with learning disabilities benefited from an engineering workshop delivered by two of Quickline’s STEM ambassadors.

The combined efforts across all activities throughout the week generated just short of £2,000 in social investment on return.

Social Values manager at Quickline, Julie Holmes, said: “This was the first time we have supported Volunteers’ Week as a whole business and we are really proud of the way our colleagues got involved.

“At Quickline we actively encourage all our employees, at every level of the organisation, to get involved in volunteering and Volunteers’ Week provided a perfect platform for us to continue to drive that message forward.”

Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the contribution made by millions of people across the UK through volunteering.
