Brodie Milner to Headline BBC Introducing Stage at Humber Street Sesh

The multi-award-winning, independent music festival will take place on August 3rd on Hull Marina showcasing over 100 acts of regional emerging music along with critically acclaimed bands from further afield.

The BBC Introducing Stage will be situated inside Social on Humber Street and curated by BBC Introducing presenter, Jericho Keys, who said: “I'm absolutely chuffed to be bits to be able to give Brodie Milner the headline slot he rightly deserves at this year's Humber Street Sesh.

“As a songwriter, and a ruddy remarkable one at that, he constantly challenges the status quo by poetically diving headfirst into topics such as British politics and mental health.

“His records are instantly recognisable in the way in which he delivers these carefully crafted observations. It makes you feel it's possible, and necessary, to dance through the drama.

“That is exactly what BBC Music Introducing is all about and that's why Brodie is our headliner for 2024.”

Brodie Milner combines thought-provoking lyrics, described by Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6) as “outstanding”, with guitar-driven melodies, channelling influence from the likes of Jack White, Ben Howard, Big Thief, Fontaines D.C, and Bob Dylan.

His 2023 debut EP ‘Tragicomedy’ received national praise for its darkly comic themes, bold sound, and intelligent commentary, garnering support across BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, Absolute Radio and BBC Introducing.

Late last year Milner headlined shows across UK and Ireland, followed by a tour with The Coral. Other gigs include support slots with BC Camplight, Katy J Pearson, and Seafret, and festival appearances at Live at Leeds, Tramlines, and Stockton Calling.
