AAK: The Co-Development Company

From its 12-acre site at the Port of Hull, AAK International is a leading provider of value-adding vegetable oils & fats.  Our expertise in oils & fats within food applications and our unique co-development approach, enables us to develop innovative solutions for lasting business results.

We work across many industries – Chocolate & Confectionery, Bakery, Dairy, Special Nutrition, Foodservice & Personal Care.

Employing more than 320 people, AAK International collaborates with leading names in the food industry to co-develop products that meet a variety of targets, from lowering saturated fats and reducing sugar, to developing ingredients for the growing vegan marketplace.

Damian Taylor, AAK’s Financial Director, says: “Meeting the fast-moving challenges of today’s food industry demands innovation and collaboration. It’s no longer enough simply to supply goods.”

“That’s why AAK is the Co-Development Company, working in close partnership with our customers, to develop bespoke solutions and provide real value to their businesses.”

“Our customers - food manufacturers, retailers & foodservice providers - are under huge pressure to improve nutrition, and continually develop new products, whilst working in a responsible, sustainable way.  We have invested heavily in people, processes and equipment to ensure that we can help them to do just that.”

AAK International’s significant investment programme includes new, industry-leading refinery and manufacturing equipment, and a high-tech Customer Innovation Centre, where AAK’s product development teams work in partnership with customers, to co-develop new products.

Marcus Bense, Technical Director at AAK, says: “We are building for growth. It is rewarding to see such dedicated, long-term investment in the Hull site, as we collaborate with customers throughout the food industry, to help them achieve their own ambitions.”
