The NHS is offering employers in Humberside the opportunity to be part of Working Voices – an initiative designed to improve the health and wellbeing of employees within workplaces.

This innovative programme run by the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership aims to build strong relationships between employers and the NHS, in partnership with local authorities, voluntary community services, and other health service providers.

Working Voices is committed to supporting employees by providing valuable information about local health and lifestyle services. The programme also encourages employees to share their feedback on local health services, helping the NHS to plan and design services that meet their needs and preferences.

In 2020, the UK lost 118.6 million working days due to sickness or injury, with the Yorkshire and Humber region experiencing a higher-than-average rate of sickness absence. Musculoskeletal problems and mental health conditions were the leading causes of these absences, accounting for nearly 37 million lost days. By promoting good health and wellbeing, Working Voices aims to reduce sickness absence, lower staff turnover, increase employee satisfaction, and boost productivity.

Employers who join the Working Voices programme will have direct access to a range of services tailored to their specific needs. These services include NHS Health Checks, emotional wellbeing support, mental health first aid, and access to smoking, drug, alcohol, and weight management services. Additionally, the programme offers physical activity options and health campaign materials to further support employee wellbeing.
