Kingston Upon Hull Named The Second Most Entrepreneurial City in the UK

A new report has revealed the most entrepreneurial cities in the UK, with Bradford taking the top spot. This is closely followed by Hull and Reading which came in second and third place respectively.
The new report released by Yorkshire-based marketing agency, Wildcat Digital, compares 4 unique data sources across 30 of the biggest cities in the UK. Each data point represents a factor which is relevant to the city, based on its entrepreneurial credentials and business innovation.
Wildcat Digital have collated, analysed and ranked this data to reveal the top 10 cities which are the most entrepreneurial. These ranking factors include,
- A Higher Number of New Business Registrations (Business Births) per 100,000 people
- A Higher Business Confidence Score
- A Higher Number of Self-employed Workers per 100,000 people
- A Higher Number of Business owners on LinkedIn (based on profiles) per 100,000 people
Kingston Upon Hull scored 255 points overall, taking second place in the study. Hull is steeped in history and cultural heritage, which attracts visitors from all over the world. With historic cultural landmarks and a thriving art scene, there is something for everyone in this dynamic city. Hull scored highly for all four factors but particularly well for business confidence:
- 43 points for new business registrations
- 100 points for business confidence
- 34 points for number of self-employed workers
- 47 points for number of business owners on LinkedIn
