Blue Ceramics moves into Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Hull
14 October 2024
Blue Ceramics create handcrafted products for all occasions. This company has been running for the past 9 years and has grown drastically over this period. It was set up to give Special Educational Needs (SEN) students at Ganton School the chance to gain valuable work experience skills of how to run a business within a safe school setting.
Each year Ganton give a different set of students within Sixth Form the chance to be a part of this business. The students are given a job role in which they all work together to design, plan and cost each product they create. The group are also responsible for organising and attending a variety of trade fairs in Hull to set up their stall and sell their ceramic products.
The students develop a wide range of seasonal ceramic products covering occasions such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father's Day. All profit generated by Blue Ceramics then gets paid to the students in the form of vouchers, giving their work real purpose.
Blue Ceramics have won numerous awards through the Hull City Council Youth Enterprise Programme.
Earlier this year Blue Ceramics began discussions with Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Hull in order to develop a partnership for Blue Ceramics to sell their products from the hotel foyer area.
On 1st May we were very proud to announce our products officially went on sale in a cabinet within the reception of the hotel. For sale we have a wide range of seasonal homemade ceramic products which we restock throughout the year. So, if you are in the area then please go and have a look.
