On the 23rd March, members from Make UK headed up to Swift Group in Cottingham, East Yorkshire to meet with local manufacturers from around the region from a range of manufacturing companies.

The guests were treated to a day which included a tour of Swift’s manufacturing facility, courtesy of Swift and a lunch hosted by the team at Marketing Humber.  

There was a lot of discussion around energy and its cost, supply chains, labour and skills, and international geo-politics of trade, with a focus on the hot topic of decarbonisation, renewables and technology.  

The visit included presentations from Make UK and from Swift Group.

Local guests included representatives from SSE, Aura Innovation, LMAS, Garthwest, Hodgson Sealants, Tricoya, HETA, Lazenby Group, Siemens Gamesa and Catch.  

Thank you to Swift for their hospitality and their wonderful chef for the food, which was a big hit all round.
