Founded in 2006, Hull Business Improvement District (BID) is an Independent, not for profit organisation representing approximately 830 city centre businesses across a multitude of sectors.  Our BID district is a geographically defined area covering the nucleus of Hull city centre.

HullBID was the first Business Improvement District in the Yorkshire region and is one of the biggest by number of properties (hereditaments).  The average number within a BID is around 475; HullBID has over 1100.  Every 5 years, the organisation goes to ballot to decide its continuity.  In 2021 we achieved an 81% win by voter numbers, and an 87% majority on rateable value, demonstrating the value of HullBID.

HullBID offers direct support to members whilst helping create an environment that will attract investment to the city centre, encourage entrepreneurship and new retail, retain workers, and have residential appeal.  Our core financial investment goes into improving safety and security and cleanliness, providing business-boosting events and marketing specific sectors.

We’re excited to join Bondholders which will provide an opportunity to network with business-people from all sectors.  Greater knowledge and understanding of how investment in the wider region is directly linked to supporting city centre businesses.
