Hull and East Yorkshire Mind helps people improve their mental health. We work with people to help them raise their aspirations and confidence, and to live as independently as possible.

As well as supporting people with their individual mental health needs, we also play an educational and preventative role in helping people avoid mental ill-health and undertake campaigning work to challenge stigma and discrimination whilst promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.

One in four people will experience a mental health problem every year . This means that there is someone touched by mental health problems in almost every family and business.

The impact of mental illness and particularly severe and enduring mental illness can be devastating. Not only for those directly affected but also their families, friends, colleagues and loved ones. It can destroy employment, housing, financial stability, relationships, physical health, friendships, hope and ambition.

We know that with proper support these things can be either avoided or improved for many people.

We work locally in Hull, East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire providing tailored, individual support for people to help them achieve what they want to. Most of our work is funded through donations, contracts and grants but we also provide a private talking therapies service, and mental health and wellbeing training for employers such as Mental Health First Aid, suicide prevention training, and training for line managers.
